This is a a recollection of my previous climb to Klang Gates in Taman Melawati
near the Zoo area in February. It was a wet and rainy day on our descend. From
the beginning we had our breakfast at the corner mamak which had a nice look
facing this granite mamoth.Even from my office window in Jalan Sultan Ismail,i
can see the entire range. This is my second climb, the first climb was via a different
route which had a better view then this climb. On this climb,it was much a trek
up the steep slopes again,we stoped over to take a few shots of the Klang Gates
Damm,i don’t know why they call it Klang Gates when we are at Melawati :) I
think i should call this the Melawati Gates Damm & Climb. When we reached
the peak, the view as usual is spectacular and air is crisp. Then fog came in
bringing it slight drizzle.Trekking up fast in a group of 4 with some small
stops will take about 45 minutes. While the descend was wet & slippery it
was much faster 30 minutes will do.This climb/trekk difficulty level is around
3,guys should have no problems.Just as long your that kinda stretchy person, because
as in any climb - you need to stretch your body to reach and grab hold onto
trees & rocks when you climb.Just be really careful, watch every step - it
could your last. Please comment if you have anything to ask or say.
